The Maintenance Supervisor is Responsible for directing the daily maintenance activities. Also responsible for the coordination of these activities with Purchasing to acquire materials, with Production Departments to minimize production downtime, and cost. Directs Mechanics activities. Monitors the safety and productivity of maintenance activities. Takes calls at night and weekends along with maintenance manager for plant issues.
Essential Job Functions:
- Direct Supervision over maintenance, operations workforce & contractors.
- Follow and promote all safety regulations and ensures plant adheres to the company EHS and MSHA policies and regulations.
- Find and implement new ways to improve maintenance procedures that result in reduced costs.
- Evaluate and problem solve breakdown and repair issues within the maintenance department.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of mechanical experience is required.
- Knowledgeable of all department processes, plant electrical and mechanical layouts.
- Must be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel, JDE is a plus or a similar maintenance tracking system.
- Experience in the mining industry is a plus.
