Job Overview
US Psychiatry PLLC provides comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment services throughout Kentucky. We are seeking a compassionate, patient-centered Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team on a PRN basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatric provider looking for scheduling flexibility while making a meaningful impact on individuals receiving behavioral health services. This position has the possibility of becoming full-time.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status exams, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 coding standards.
- Prescribe and manage medications for mental health conditions in accordance with DEA regulations and collaborative practice agreements.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, medication management, and lifestyle interventions.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records.
- Provide telehealth services to expand access to mental health care for diverse populations across different settings.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies to foster engagement and adherence.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with behavioral health patients across age groups, including children, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency in clinical research methodologies related to psychiatry and mental health treatments.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, including medication administration, drug interactions, and CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation and data management.
- Ability to perform physical examinations relevant to psychiatric assessments and manage acute care situations such as crisis intervention or triage.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement, intake evaluations, and mental status examinations.
- Experience working within collaborative practice models in outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as Level I Trauma Centers or teaching hospitals.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality during all aspects of care delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation (must be completed within 24 hours of service provided).
