The general pay scale for this position at MOH is $250,000 annually. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Hematologist/Oncologist

Community Private Practice

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and patient-centered Hematologist/Oncologist to join our growing community oncology practice. This physician will provide comprehensive care for patients with benign hematologic disorders and solid and hematologic malignancies while working alongside a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based cancer care close to home.

The ideal candidate is committed to building long-term relationships with patients, referring physicians, and colleagues while participating in a physician-led practice that emphasizes clinical excellence, innovation, and exceptional patient experiences.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage patients with benign hematologic disorders, hematologic malignancies, and solid tumors.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medicine and NCCN guidelines.
  • Administer and oversee systemic therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborate closely with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, and primary care physicians.
  • Provide compassionate longitudinal care throughout all phases of the cancer journey.
  • Coordinate survivorship care and palliative treatment when appropriate.
  • Interpret laboratory studies, pathology reports, molecular testing, and advanced imaging to guide treatment decisions.
  • Participate in after-hours call rotation with physician partners.
  • Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
  • Foster strong relationships with referring physicians and actively contribute to practice growth.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new patient consultations.
  • Manage follow-up oncology and hematology patients.
  • Diagnose and treat benign hematologic conditions.
  • Diagnose and manage solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.
  • Supervise infusion treatments and supportive therapies.
  • Coordinate inpatient consultations as required.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers and nursing staff to optimize patient care.

Clinical Trials & Research

  • Identify patients eligible for clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with research coordinators to enroll appropriate patients.
  • Participate as a sub-investigator or principal investigator when appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging therapies and evolving standards of care.
  • Contribute to the advancement of community-based oncology research.

Physician Leadership

  • Promote a collegial, physician-led practice culture.
  • Mentor advanced practice providers, nurses, fellows, and students as opportunities arise.
  • Participate in physician meetings and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Support continuous quality improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and Medical Oncology
  • Eligible for unrestricted state medical licensure
  • DEA registration
