Position Overview
The Materials Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the timely availability of raw materials and components required for solar module production. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating material requirements to support manufacturing operations while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on production schedules and forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components to meet production demands.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics teams to align material availability with manufacturing needs.
- Analyze demand trends and adjust planning strategies to reduce shortages and excess inventory.
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems for material planning and inventory control.
- Identify and resolve material-related issues that could impact production schedules.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material flow and reduce lead times.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or supply chain management (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management principles.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools.
- Experience in solar or electronics manufacturing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Requires standing, lifting, and walking for extended periods.
- Standard business hours with occasional overtime or weekend work during peak periods.
