Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Mechanic. As a Mechanic, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all machinery operates efficiently, safely, and reliably. Your expertise will troubleshoot complex mechanical issues, and implement preventative maintenance strategies to keep operations running smoothly. Pay based on experience.
Duties
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and advanced repairs on diesel-powered mobile equipment and hydraulic/electrical systems.
Coordinate and prioritize daily maintenance and repair tasks based on production needs.
Review daily inspections and on-board equipment monitoring and verify completion and quality of mechanical work.
Support the implementation of preventative maintenance schedules and equipment inspections.
Work closely with parts and procurement personnel to ensure proper inventory and timely repair.
Monitor equipment performance and report major mechanical issues.
Assist with planning component rebuilds, overhauls, and major maintenance campaigns.
Maintain accurate maintenance records
Promote and enforce safe work practices in accordance with MSHA and company standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, preferably in mining or construction.
Prior leadership or lead technician experience is strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and electrical systems on mining equipment (e.g., CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi).
Strong ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
Familiarity with MSHA regulations and mining equipment safety protocols.
Proficiency with diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET, Komatsu KOMTRAX, Cummins Insite).
Ability to work independently in both field and shop environments.
Experience using computers to monitor and diagnose equipment (VisionLink, Excel, etc.)
