What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller position at US Metro Bank?
POSITION OVERVIEW
The teller is the “point of contact” for a majority of customers in their day-to-day transactions generally associated with teller work. This position is responsible for processing teller transactions accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment while offering Bank products and services.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles all teller functionalities
- Handles customer’s call and inquiries
- Balances all check and cash transactions daily
- Be acquainted with bank products/services
- Assists in the daily review of branch reports i.e., overdrafts, new and closed accounts,
- Place Holds on check deposits.
- Contacts customers on the NSF Report for possible deposits to cover the item(s).
- Contacts customers on the Overdraft Report.
- Finalizes decisions on the NSF items in accordance with the instructions from Branch Manager and/or Operations Officer.
- Acts on any returned Items from Fed for proper resolution to customer accounts.
- Responds to requests for Verification of Deposits.
- Maintains customer accounts for Change of Address requests.
- Resolves online banking customers’ complaints.
- Prepares debit card requests.
- Provides dual control for armored deposits.
- Assists in the resolution or location of teller differences.
- Answers telephone calls, and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Assists the Operations Officer as needed or requested
- Handles additional duties assigned by management
- Complies fully with all Bank policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Anti Money Laundering, Code of Conduct, and etc.). Must complete all required training.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual in English & Korean preferred
- Working knowledge of all operations departments of the Bank
- Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with all types of customers
- Proficiency in basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of one year in branch banking experience
