Edger Operator

General Responsibilities

• Work safely - know, understand, and follow all safety rules
• Input sawn lumber through edger to cut prescribed board lengths
• Handle, sort, and stack lumber by dimension, species and grade
• Safely maintain flow of the product
• Utilize hand tools, i.e. broom, shovel, etc. to clean up sawmill debris
• Some greasing and basic maintenance
• Cross train in other positions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs
• Ability to exert muscle force in repeated or continuous motion for long periods
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
