US Heart and Vascular is needing a Referral Coordinator to join our team at HeartPlace in Arlington, TX
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates appointments for patients.
- Verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization for referrals as required.
- Communicates with patients regarding referral appointments and instructions.
- Maintains accurate records of referral requests and approvals.
- Conducts follow-up on pending referrals and ensures timely processing.
- Collaborates with medical staff to expedite urgent referrals when necessary.
- Provides assistance and support to patients navigating the referral process.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies.
- Inputs referral information into electronic health record systems accurately.
- Communicates with insurance companies or third-party payers to resolve referral-related issues.
- Assists with administrative tasks as needed in the referrals department
- When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED from accredited institution.
- If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver's license and required minimum auto insurance coverage
- Cardiology practice experience is preferred but not required
- Working knowledge of EMR systems.
- Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of USHV and the practices.
