What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Medical Assistant (2372) position at US Heart & Vascular?
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Primary Medical Assistant to join our vascular team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
- Send out prescriptions per physician orders
- Fill out testing orders per physician orders & explain testing to the patient
- Escort patients to check-out
- Check voicemails & enter messages into NextGen
- Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
- Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
- Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
- Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
- Review procedure and instructions with the patient
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge in medical terminology
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required
- Cardiac Experience preferred but not required
