What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant (2434) position at US Heart & Vascular?
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ to assist Provider(s) in daily operations of his/her clinic and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
- Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
- Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests
- Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
- Screens telephone calls for physicians
- Preps patients for Treadmill Stress Tests
- Performs Treadmill Stress Tests as required
- Returns patient phone calls
- Calls in patient prescriptions
- Answers triage calls
- Travel required
- Other related duties may be assigned
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- Cardiac Experience
- Knowledge in medical terminology
- Ability to effectively communicate
