Area Manager Summary:
The Area Manager is responsible for supporting providers across assigned clinics by leading and managing front desk teams and medical staff while ensuring operational excellence and office compliance. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the medical offices, including human resources, front office operations, and adherence to established policies and procedures. Travel between clinic locations is required.
Area Manager Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other Duties May Be Assigned)
- Serve as a team leader on special projects and initiatives
- Foster and maintain a positive, professional work environment
- Address patient and employee questions, concerns, and escalations
- Create and manage employee schedules
- Oversee revenue management and patient queue management
- Manage monthly inventory and supply ordering
- Oversee daily office operations across assigned clinics
- Manage multiple providers’ regular and on-call schedules
- Coordinate building maintenance and vendor relationships
- Manage daily deposits, bank runs, and office timekeeping
- Facilitate new hire orientation and ongoing employee training
- Conduct interviews and support staffing needs as they arise
- Assist with practice marketing initiatives
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Provide front desk coverage as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a medical office manager
- Minimum of 4 years of experience managing teams of 15–20 employees
- Strong working knowledge of medical insurance and billing processes
- Medical practice experience required
- EHR/EMR system experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, providers, and the public
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Technologically proficient with strong working knowledge of:
- Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Google Docs
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective at multitasking
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with corporate partners, providers, and patients
