Cascade Foot & Ankle - Yakima, A division of US Foot & Ankle Specialists, is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to support revenue cycle operations across our clinic and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) services.
This role is primarily focused on billing and accounts receivable, including pre-authorizations, claim follow-up, denial resolution, and EOB processing. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience working claims from submission through resolution.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Billing & Revenue Cycle (Primary Focus):
- Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims across multiple payers
- Work aging accounts receivable and resolve unpaid or denied claims
- Review and process EOBs, denials, and underpayments
- Submit and manage pre-authorizations for procedures and surgeries
- Communicate with payers regarding claim status, appeals, and reimbursements
- Post payments, adjustments, and ensure accurate claim documentation
- Monitor reports and take action to reduce outstanding AR
Patient Access / Front Desk Support (as needed):
- Provide front desk coverage during staffing shortages or high-volume periods
- Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage provider calendars as needed
- Register new patients and update demographics and insurance information
- Verify insurance eligibility and collect patient payments (copays, balances, deductibles)
Required Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred
- 2 years of hands-on medical billing / revenue cycle experience (required)
- Experience with denials, EOBs, AR follow-up, and pre-authorizations (required)
- Experience with ASC or surgical billing strongly preferred
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 coding, and insurance workflows
- Experience working aging reports and resolving unpaid claims
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR and billing systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
Pay Range:
$19 – $23/hour based on experience

Physical Requirements:
