What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at US Foot and Ankle Specialists?
We’re seeking a Medical Assistant to work directly with our physicians and clinical team to provide hands-on patient care throughout the day. In this role, you’ll assist with exams, procedures, and treatments while helping ensure a smooth and positive experience for every patient.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | No Nights | No Weekends
Medical Assistant Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Room patients, take vitals, update histories, and prepare them for exams
- Assist providers with in-office procedures, injections, wound care, and treatments
- Apply DME/strappings, take X-rays, and support lab specimen processing
- Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and instruments sterilized
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage provider calendars
- Support patient check-in/out and provide excellent customer service
- Verify insurance/referrals, collect copays, and update patient records in the EMR
- Assist with orthotics tracking, billing follow-up, and end-of-day documentation
Medical Assistant Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of an MA program or 2 years of clinical experience
- CMA or RMA certification preferred (not required)
- Strong communication, multitasking, and patient service skills
- Comfortable using EMR systems and basic insurance processes
- Team-oriented and flexible in a busy clinic environment
