We have an immediate opening for an experienced OR/PACU Medical Assistant to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team in Towson, MD. The schedule is Monday -Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm with 2-3 weekends and holidays per year. Pay range $22 - $26 per hour.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Medical Assistant is responsible for:
- Assisting as scrub technician in the OR
- Proper sterile and aseptic technique and setup/use of equipment
- Preparing rooms for all procedures while ensuring necessary instruments, supplies and equipment are available
- Technical skill in the care and use of instruments, supplies and equipment used during a surgical procedure
- Proper sanitary maintenance of equipment according to OSHA guidelines
- Using autoclave and clean per protocol
- Providing ultrasound guidance under physician’s supervision during transfers
- Comforting patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, providing support
What You'll Bring:
The skills and education we need are:
- Sterile Processing required
- Formal MA education/certification preferred
- Prior experience in an OR/Ambulatory Surgical setting
- Experience in women's health (e.g., OB/GYN) preferred
- Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
- Infertility/IVF experience is preferred
- Phlebotomy skills are preferred
- Professionalism and strong customer service skills a must!
