Position Summary
The Director of Enterprise Data Management (EDM) will lead the strategy, governance, and execution of data management initiatives across the healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring data quality, integrity, accessibility, and security to support clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making. The Director will play a key leadership role in transforming the organization's data assets into a strategic enterprise capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the enterprise data management strategy aligned with organizational goals, with a strong focus on healthcare operations, compliance, and patient outcomes.
- Oversee data governance, data quality, data architecture, metadata management, and master data management programs.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, IT, and executive leadership to ensure enterprise-wide adoption of data standards and best practices.
- Establish and maintain data policies, procedures, and standards to support regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH, CMS, Joint Commission).
- Drive the implementation and enhancement of enterprise data platforms, tools, and technologies, including data warehouses, data lakes, and analytics solutions.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of data professionals including data stewards, data architects, analysts, engineers, database administrators/engineers, and governance specialists.
- Ensure the timely delivery of accurate and accessible data to support clinical decision-making, population health management, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
- Serve as a key advisor and subject matter expert on enterprise data-related initiatives, including interoperability, health information exchange (HIE), and digital health innovation.
- Partner with compliance, security, and legal teams to manage data privacy and risk.
- Monitor industry trends and advancements in healthcare data management and apply relevant innovations to the organization.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in data management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a healthcare organization or health system is required.
- Deep understanding of healthcare data types (EHR, claims, revenue cycle, patient-reported outcomes), regulatory frameworks, and interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Demonstrated success in building and executing enterprise data strategies and governance programs.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL, PowerBI, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure Data Factory.

Salary : $120,000 - $250,000
