About the Position: This position is located at the Anniston Munitions Center, Alabama.. This position serves as an Engineering Equipment Operator, operating heavy engineering equipment, forklifts, and cranes to perform excavation, grading, demolition support, ammunition processing, material handling, and equipment maintenance in a safe and controlled environment.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job. - Work requires reaching, bending, turning and moving hands, arms, feet and legs. There is continuous jerking and jolting while operating equipment. When performing duties described in para 2, incumbent is required to frequently lift weights up to 40 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
- Incumbent is exposed to noise, dust, and fumes from the motor and exhaust, and is exposed to outside weather extremes and danger of overturning equipment. There is possibility of cuts, bruises and broken bones as a result of accidents. When performing duties described in para 2. is exposed to toxic agents and to the possibility of flash fires and explosions which could cause serious injury, dismemberment or loss of life. There is also possibility of burns, mashed fingers and other serious accidents. Wears such safety equipment as glasses, radio-active detection badges, goggles, face shield, flameproof coveralls, rubber aprons and respirator as necessary.
