THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP.

This National Guard position is for a POLICE OFFICER, Position Description Number PDD2499P01 and is part of the Mississippi National Guard.

Qualifications:This is an indefinite position, tenure 3, with a time limit determined by the needs of the agency. Any permanent military technician who is selected for this position will become tenure 3. The selectee will receive the same benefits and entitlements as the tenure 1 employee, but will be considered tenure 3 for purposes of reduction in force. You can be terminated at any time with a 30-day notice. If a permanent resource becomes available, incumbent may be converted to a permanent appointment without competition

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED
: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES: Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: A National Guard Title 32 Dual Status applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. Applicant must have at least six months of working experiences and the successful completion of the Air Force Technical Training AFSC/Security Forces School

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 12 months of experiences in performing practical security force activities in direct support of the military weapon systems and physical security; law and order; and area security operations. The work experiences are in law enforcement, maintaining law and order, preserving the peace, and protecting life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of military installations. Have general experiences in protecting federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. Experiences in securing crime and incident scenes; apprehending and detaining suspects; searches persons and property; and collects, seize, and preserve evidence. Experienced in conducting interviews of witnesses and suspects and obtains statements and testifies in official judicial proceedings. Has work experiences in responding to disaster and relief operations and participates in contingencies. Knowledgeable in developing plans, policies, procedures, and detailed instructions to implement security force programs. Is competent and experienced in maintaining accountability and ensuring security for weapons, ammunition, and explosives utilized in the course of instruction in accordance with applicable Air Force Instructions. Experienced in implementing ground weapons training programs. Experienced in the control and safeguarding of arms, ammunition, and equipment; and, instructs ground weapons qualification training. Have competencies in managing weapon placement to security forces and ground defense force commanders. Have experiences in inspecting ground weapons, replacing unserviceable parts, and analyzing malfunctions by inspections and serviceability testing. Have experiences in firing weapons for accuracy and serviceability. Understands how to control and operate firing ranges and associated facilities to include supervising construction and rehabilitation.

OTHER SERIES QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND SELECTIVE FACTORS

1. Current U.S. citizenship, naturalized citizen or permanent resident.
2. Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with selective service.
3. Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles (GMV) in accordance with AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations.
4. Never convicted of domestic violence IAW the Lautenberg Amendment.
5. No history of excessive alcohol use or arrested in the past two years for two or more alcohol related incidents regardless of disposition, except when proven not guilty.
6. No more than one active wage garnishment for delinquency.
7. No more than two delinquent charge off/collection (>= 30 days) payments within last two years.
8. Within three years prior to entry into military service, was never terminated from civilian employment for reasons of misconduct, theft, or alcohol use.
9. Must not have used, distributed, or manufactured illicit narcotics or been arrested for any narcotics use, distribution or manufacturing.
10. Have not sniffed or used a substance to obtain an altered consciousness state from aerosol spray, lighter fluid, petro chemical, adhesives, Freon, or any other chemical for a purpose not intended for use.
11. Qualified to bear firearms according to AFI 31-117, "Arming and Use of Force by Air Force Personnel".
12. Never convicted by a general, special, or summary courts-martial.
13. Never received non-judicial punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) which resulted in either reduction or suspended reduction in grade, or correctional custody for offenses involving substantiated drug abuse as defined in AFI 44-121, "Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (ADAPT) Program".
14. No acts of larceny, wrongful appropriation, robbery, burglary, housebreaking, misconduct in combat defined in UCMJ Articles 99-106, or any act that harmed or had the potential to harm the physical safety or well-being of animals to include Military Working Dogs.
15. Never convicted by a civilian court of a Category One, Two, or Three offense, nor exceeded the accepted number of Category Four offenses. The Category Three and Four traffic offenses alone are not disqualifying. NOTE: Categories of offenses are described and listed in AFI 36-2002, "Regular Air Force and Special Category Accessions, Uniform Guide List of Typical Offenses".
16. No documented record of gang affiliation.
17. No fear of working around nuclear weapons or nuclear components. NGB Title 32 Series GS-0083, Police Work Qualification Standard
18. For award and retention of the compatible position AFSCs, must maintain an Air Force Network License, according to AFI 33-115, Vol 2, "Licensing Network Users and Certifying Network Professionals".
19. Position requires routine access to Secret material; and, a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit (NACLC) is required.
20. Position Series and AFSC require routine access to Secret material or similar environment; therefore, award and retention of AFSC 3P0X1, completion of a current National Agency Check, Local Agency Checks and Credit (NACLC) according to AFI 31-501, Personnel Security Program Management, are mandatory.
21. Must maintain an Air Force Network License.

NOTES TO CANDIDATES:

a. Situations of inversion of military rank are not permitted, i.e., a military technician may not be militarily senior to his or her full-time supervisor.

b. Candidates may be screened and evaluated on military attributes directly related to the compatible military position required to be assigned into, such as, but not limited to, military bearing, leadership, or ability to work with others (teamwork) in a military environment.

c. Final selection will be based upon qualifications, suitability, and available manpower resources.

d. This employer will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.
