The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior technician and perform a wide variety of both procedural and substantive clerical work supporting one or more military personnel programs, operations, or functions, e.g., recruitment, induction, assignment, training, utilization, or separation.Qualifications:In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, 0203 Series.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing knowledge of, and skill in applying, an extensive body of military personnel regulations and procedures relating to transactions processed. Apply knowledge of military organizational structure, protocol, and similar matters. Using a working knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. Using personnel automated systems and various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs. Communicating effectively, orally and in writing with significant ability to deal effectively and tactfully with civilian/military personnel of all ranks and at all command levels. Entering and retrieving personnel action data and correcting data errors in data systems. Interpreting and applying moderately complex directives pertaining to the area of responsibility.

One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
