JOB SUMMARY
The Research Analyst's mission is to help the Company maintain and grow its existing portfolio of law firms. Not all law firms are created equally, and in this role, the research analyst will be responsible for reviewing new and existing law firms. The review process will vary depending on the size of the firm, the depth of history we have with the firm, the firm’s location, sources of leads, and other factors. This analysis is used to develop or update risk rankings that impact how the Company allocates time and resources across firm relationships. To be successful in this role, the Research Analyst must demonstrate:

- Ability to analyze data and draw clear, well-supported conclusions
- Ability to summarize the data and analysis into a concise executive summary
- Capacity to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Firm Research – approximately 60% of the time will be spent on researching law firms utilizing a variety of data sources, including: Internal performance data (leads, originations, collections, write-offs), firm location, specialty, size – utilizing AI solutions to research the law firms, and firm staff – compare existing contacts for the firm to see if they are still at the firm or if they have moved to another location
- Completing Risk Evaluation – approximately 20% of the time, after completing firm research, the Research Analyst will prepare a written executive summary summarizing changes in the firm’s performance since the last evaluation, notating anything new that the analyst learned about the firm, and most importantly, making a recommendation about future engagement with the firm.
- Special Projects – working closely with the Risk and Portfolio Management team, you will have an opportunity to work on projects that will further expand your knowledge as it relates to Structured Finance (Securitizations, Warehouse lending, and Rating Agencies)
