Position Summary
The Drywall Hanger is responsible for installing gypsum wallboard on walls and ceilings in commercial construction projects. This role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a strong understanding of commercial drywall installation practices, including layout, fastening methods, and industry standards.
Successful candidates demonstrate craftsmanship, maintain a safe work environment, and work collaboratively with supervisors and fellow tradespeople to deliver high-quality finished products.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install drywall on walls and ceilings according to project plans and specifications.
- Measure, cut, scribe, and fit drywall panels for proper installation.
- Understand and follow commercial drywall installation techniques and industry standards.
- Interpret construction drawings and layout requirements.
- Install drywall in accordance with applicable fire-rated and acoustical assemblies, including UL-rated systems.
- Safely operate lifts, scaffolding, and other jobsite equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with foremen and other trades to maintain project schedules.
- Identify and communicate installation issues before they become project delays.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of commercial drywall hanging experience required.
- Experience operating scissor lifts and working from scaffolding preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction mathematics.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and carry drywall materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.

Compensation
$20.00–$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
