Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing of cannabis and cannabis products using GC-MS and/or ICP-MS
- Conduct sample preparation across multiple matrices, including reagent and standard preparation
- Analyze and interpret data for residual solvents, heavy metals, and contaminants
- Ensure compliance with PA regulations, ISO/IEC 17025 standards, and internal SOPs
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation
- Execute daily instrument performance checks and quality control procedures
- Maintain chain-of-custody and accurate cannabis tracking, including destruction documentation
- Review, verify, and document analytical results in LIMS, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Assist with method validation, verification, and proficiency testing programs
- Support internal audits and quality assurance initiatives
- Coordinate with external vendors for instrument service and preventative maintenance
- Maintain laboratory inventory for reagents, standards, and consumables
- Support sample intake, accessioning, and non-analytical testing as needed
- Provide guidance and workflow support to Laboratory Technicians and Assistants
- Identify and recommend process improvements and method efficiencies
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related natural science
- 2 years of full-time, post-academic experience with GC-MS and/or ICP-MS
- Strong analytical chemistry and data analysis skills
- Experience with instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to follow SOPs and work in a regulated laboratory environment
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure
- Experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, environmental, or food testing laboratories
- Experience with GC-MS, ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS or HPLC
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems and accreditation requirements
- Experience with method development and validation
- Experience with Agilent instrumentation platforms
- Experience with LIMS
- Peer leadership or training experience
- Fast-paced, production-driven laboratory environment
- Continuous video and audio surveillance in accordance with state regulations
- Required use of PPE (lab coat, gloves, eye protection)
- Exposure to chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and laboratory equipment
- Moderate to loud noise levels
- Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the workday
- Frequent use of hands for laboratory work and data entry
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs
