Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail oriented Scientist with at least 2 years of experience in cannabis testing laboratories. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in operating analytical instruments, handling high level of samples (up to 150), and maintaining compliance with industry standards, such as ISO and Proficiency Testing (PT)programs. This role requires someone with strong technical expertise and commitment delivering accurate and reliable results.
Duties
Receive and process up to 150 cannabis samples per day for a variety of tests, ensuring proper handling and accurate analysis of each sample.
- Operate, calibrate and maintain analytical instruments including HPLC, GC-MS,LCMS, or other cannabis specific testing equipment.
- Ensure all testing process adhere to ISO standards, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory requirements, Participate in Proficiency Testing (PT) programs to validate lab performance.
- Analyze data, interpret exams, and generate detailed reports in a clear and concise manner. Communicate any deviations or outliers in results to senior staff.
- Help manage laboratory inventory, ordering reagents and supplies as needed Ensure lab cleanliness and organization.
- Work closely with the lab team to ensure efficient workflow and provide training to new staff as needed.
- Maintain rigorous quality control protocols for microbiology testing, histological analysis, molecular biology procedures, and other technical activities.
- Monitor laboratory inventory levels; manage procurement of supplies and reagents necessary for ongoing operations.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cannabis laboratory, particularly in handling high levels of samples and using analytical instrumentation.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory instruments, including HPLC, GC-MS, LCMS, and others commonly used in cannabis testing.
- Experience with ISO standards and participation sin Proficiency Testing (PT) programs.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to producing accurate and reliable results.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced laboratory environment.
- Familiar with state and federal cannabis testing regulations.
- Experience in managing lab work flows and improving operational efficiency.
- Familiar with (LIMS) Laboratory Information Management Systems)
Pay: Up to $5,000.00 per month
