Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Equipment Appraiser role based in Minneapolis, MN, with the flexibility to perform some work from home. The Equipment Appraiser will inspect, research, and analyze a wide range of machinery and equipment to determine fair market value, orderly liquidation value, and other value standards as required. Daily responsibilities include reviewing client documentation, gathering asset data, conducting market and comparable analysis, and preparing detailed, supportable appraisal reports. The role involves coordinating site visits, documenting equipment conditions through notes and photos, and communicating with clients to clarify asset information and project scope. The Equipment Appraiser will collaborate with internal team members on complex engagements, support related valuation and auction projects, and ensure all work complies with industry standards and company quality expectations.

- Strong analytical and research skills, including the ability to gather market data, compare comparable assets, and interpret industry information to support valuation conclusions.
- Proficiency in written communication, including clear report writing, documentation, and professional correspondence with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Comfort with onsite inspections, including identifying machinery and equipment types, assessing condition, and accurately recording specifications and observations.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency with productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) and the ability to work with databases or appraisal tools.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience in equipment appraisal, business valuation, asset based lending, auction services, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for onsite inspections as needed, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality, and providing objective, well-supported opinions of value.
- Machinery and equipment appraisal license.
