Job Overview
As a Field Artillery Soldier, you will be trained and become proficient in various artillery weapons to identify, neutralize, and suppress opposing forces. Soldiers in this branch will be assigned based on skills assessed at Basic Combat Training as a 13B, 13F, 13J, 13M, or 13R.
Requirements
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident with a valid Green Card.
- Be between 17-34 years old.
- Hold a High School diploma or GED.
- Meet the Army's tattoo guidelines.
- Have no major law violations.
- Pass a medical examination.
Skills You Will Learn
You will develop expertise in:
- Weapons operations.
- Physical and mental strength.
- Calculating and recording data.
Training and Certifications
The training process involves:
- 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training.
- 6-10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) depending on your Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).
- A minimum ASVAB score of 87 in General Technical (GT).
