Duties

Assures the Intelligence Squadron maintains a capability to provide appropriate Gaining Command entities with timely fused intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel, during peace time operations. Administers daily targeting, collections, and analysis of the assigned portion of the Gaining Command Area of Responsibility (AOR). Coordinates with the Gaining Command on intelligence elements (collections, analysis and/or targeting) needed to carry out coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues. Represents the organization at interagency conferences and meetings that deal with specialty functions and intelligence-specific roles in the AOC. During contingency operations, provides assistance in the form of offensive and defensive information operations support, collections, targeting, and analysis, either from home station and/or via travel to the Gaining Command. Coordinates intelligence participation in appropriate exercises for force-level AOC training. Provides guidance and assistance to AIS and Gaining Command Intelligence specialists and serves to Empowered to commit personnel and squadron intelligence resources to missions and special exercises, including coordinating with outside agencies, under the general direction of supervisor. Coordinates with Gaining Command ISRD training requirements, which encompass separate and distinct specialties in the Intelligence career field. Identifies training requirements and conducts or organizes training courses for intelligence personnel on a variety of technical subjects including proper handling of classified material, target development and weaponeering, collection platform capabilities and employment, as well as weapons systems tactics and geopolitical considerations. Determines the best course of action regarding sensor use in collections, enemy strengths and capabilities in analysis, and command and control centers of gravity in targeting. Conducts research and analysis, and, based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Individuals on incentive bonuses may be subject to recoupment or termination, contact the State Incentives Manager at Whiteman AFB at (660) 687-7394 or at St. Joseph at (816) 236-3339 for any questions concerning recoupment or termination.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.
  • Advanced in hire rate may be granted to set pay above the minimum rate of the grade for a new employee if he/she possesses superior qualifications relevant to the positions' requirements and is essential to accomplish the agency's mission.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Selected candidate will be required to be in a compatible military assignment prior to effective date of placement. Selected candidate must be AFSC qualified within 12 months from date of appointment.

Maximum Military Grade - SMSgt (E-8)

Enlisted - AFSC 1N000, 1N1X0, 1N2X0, 1N3X0, 1N7X1, 1U100 or 1U1X1

Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Technicians will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work which required the ability to deal effectively with others; to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; and to prepare clear and concise written reports.

GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations; performing complex intelligence analysis of pertinent threat weapons systems and geopolitical conditions, and masters and trains personnel on Air and Space Operations Center (AOC) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Division (ISRD) processes and systems; experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required you to deal effectively with others; and collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and analyze and prepare clear and concise written reports.

Must currently hold or have held AFSC 1NXXX.
