applications including Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT). We design and manufacture
cutting-edge PNT equipment that is trusted by customers around the world.
Position Summary:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a critical role designing, developing, testing, integrating,
and optimizing circuits and systems including analog and digital circuits such as AC/DC and
DC/DC power supplies, digital control circuits and FPGAs, DSP/ARM and transceiver ICs
including RS232 as well as timing and frequency generation and PLLs for UrsaNav’s PNT
(positioning navigation and timing) systems. You will work as part of a cross-functional team to
deliver high-performance solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop prototypes of electrical systems, including the creation of schematics, PCB layouts, and integrations with software platforms
- Collaborate with other internal Engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and technologies
- Design circuits, A2Ds (analog to digital), ADC (analog digital converter), filters, and subsystem components
- Lead the design of complex electrical systems and components, including power supply units, signal processing circuits, communication systems, and radar technologies, adhering to industry standards
- Ensure designs meet necessary specifications and comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software and simulation tools to model and refine electrical components (Altium)
- Perform rigorous analysis of electrical systems, components, and subsystems. This includes evaluating system performance, identifying weaknesses, and proposing solutions to improve efficiency and reliability
- Analyze test results from prototypes or field-tested systems to detect faults or inefficiencies. Perform troubleshooting and provide recommendations for improvements or modifications
- Lead team design reviews
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet project goals
- Document design processes, test procedures, and technical reports
- Direct and mentor a small team of Engineers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
- 8 years of experience in design, building, and testing electrical products/systems
- Solid experience developing radio receivers or similar products
- Experience in high-frequency PCB design and layout
- Knowledge of oscilloscopes, RF analyzers, and network analyzers
- Experience working with A2Ds (analog to digital) and ADCs (analog digital converter)
- Proficiency in simulation and CAD tools (Altium preferred)
- Excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills
- PNT and/or RF experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with military specs and/or environmental testing preferred
- Ability to travel (no more than 20%, open to being able to when and if needed)
