Role Description
This is a contract position, with the opportunity to transition into full-time employment, for on-site client visits across Los Angeles and Orange counties. The Information Technology Network Specialist will be responsible for managing and securing client networks, including the deployment and administration of network equipment (Cisco, Ubiquiti/UniFi, and related platforms). The role includes VLAN configuration, firewall and switch management, and network monitoring to ensure security and high availability. Day-to-day tasks involve setting up and maintaining hardware and software, monitoring and tuning network performance, conducting security testing, and providing direct technical support to end users.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required and willingness to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Experience in Network Administration, VLAN configuration, and Troubleshooting
- Hands-on expertise with Cisco and Ubiquiti/UniFi network equipment
- Strong knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and network security protocols
- Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS
- Understanding of LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices, including configuration and troubleshooting
- Skilled in deploying and managing network infrastructure, firewalls, switches, and wireless systems
- General Information Technology expertise across cloud, endpoints, and servers
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with clients and team members
- Ability to work effectively in an on-site, client-facing environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
