Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our busy urology practice. This position supports providers and clinical staff by assisting with medication coordination, patient education, and medication affordability. The Pharmacy Technician plays an important role in helping patients navigate specialty urology medications and ensuring accurate documentation within the medical record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with questions regarding prescribed urology medications, including proper use and storage
- Support patients in enrolling in copay assistance programs, manufacturer savings programs, and patient assistance programs
- Communicate with specialty pharmacies to track prescription status, shipments, and patient access
- Document medication information and patient communications accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Help coordinate medication start dates and follow-up with patients regarding tolerance and access
- Maintain accurate medication lists and assist with medication reconciliation
- Provide administrative support to providers and nursing staff related to medication management
- Ensure compliance with office policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required
- Active state registration as required
- Previous experience in a physician’s office, specialty clinic, or pharmacy preferred
- Experience with specialty medications (oncology, urology, or biologics) preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with specialty medications such as hormone therapies, oral oncology agents, or injectable treatments
- Knowledge of copay assistance and patient assistance programs
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
