Responsibilities
- Manage medical documentation review, ensuring accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize EMR system for data entry and record management
- Perform insurance verification and authorization processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers
- Handle medical billing and coding tasks including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and documentation review for billing accuracy
- Assist with appointment scheduling, hospital OR scheduling, patient intake, and front desk duties using multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and correspondence
- Support clinical staff with care plan documentation and administrative support related to patient care
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards regarding patient privacy and data security
- Provide excellent customer service to patients via phone or in person, addressing inquiries professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting; clinic or hospital experience preferred
- Familiarity with medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), insurance verification, and health information management
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
- Knowledge of medical terminology experience is advantageous
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- Strong customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and clerical support experience
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality
