Position Overview
The Urology Center of Iowa (UCI) is a rapidly growing, multi-site specialty practice dedicated to delivering compassionate, world-class urologic care. We are seeking an Ancillary Services Manager to provide strategic, operational, and managerial leadership across all ancillary service lines, including—but not limited to— interventional radiology, cancer care, ambulatory surgery center, and radiation oncology.
This leader will report directly to the Director of Operations and will work closely with physicians, executive management, department supervisors, and external partners to ensure efficiency, compliance, profitability, and exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize performance and profitability of ancillary services.
- Conduct market analyses and identify new opportunities for service expansion in urology.
- Partner with executive leadership on short- and long-term growth strategies.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies to guide innovation.
- Manage day-to-day operations of all ancillary departments.
- Standardize policies, procedures, and clinical workflows.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and productivity metrics.
- Oversee procurement, vendor contracts, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, HIPAA, OSHA, and other regulations.
- Maintain licensure, accreditation, and certification standards.
- Lead quality improvement programs and corrective action plans.
- Partner with finance and billing teams to optimize revenue cycle and reimbursement.
- Track and analyze KPIs, ROI, and financial performance.
- Develop business plans and capital requests for new initiatives.
- Ensure compassionate, timely, and coordinated patient care across all service lines.
- Collaborate with physicians and APPs to integrate ancillary services into patient care pathways.
- Address and resolve patient and provider concerns effectively.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH) preferred.
- 3 years of progressive healthcare operations experience; 1 years in a management role (multi-specialty practice, hospital, or outpatient setting preferred).
- Experience developing or managing ancillary services strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of urology-specific services, regulatory standards, and healthcare compliance preferred.
- Strong financial management, budgeting, and revenue cycle knowledge.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and healthcare data analytics.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based with regular travel between UCI sites.
- Occasional evenings/weekends for projects or operational needs.
- Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities.
