We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating the collection of payments for medical services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate complex billing scenarios.
Duties
- Review and verify patient information and insurance coverage for accuracy.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding (ICD-10, ICD-9).
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing practices.
- Utilize medical coding systems to assign correct codes for diagnoses and procedures.
- Manage accounts receivable by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation to support billing processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing issues.
- Conduct medical collections as necessary while adhering to ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical billing and coding, including knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9, CPT, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
- Previous experience in medical billing or related field is required
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is a plus.
