Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programing, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines (Fanuc, Mazak, or similar controls)
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
- Monitor machine operation to ensure product quality and efficiency
- Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Make necessary offsets and adjustments to maintain tolerances
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
- CNC lathe machining experience
- Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds, and feeds
- Ability to read blueprints and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience with CNC programming or editing programs is a plus
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills (Optional)
- Experience with live tooling or multi-axis lathes
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
