Duties
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Assist with clinical tasks such as administering medications, giving injections, and obtaining vitals.
- Support physicians during examinations and procedures by preparing treatment rooms and ensuring necessary supplies are available.
- Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating records, and coordinating follow-up care.
- Maintain compliance with ICD coding standards for accurate documentation of diagnoses and procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining treatments, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
- Assist with urgent care procedures, including wound care, medication administration, and initial assessments for trauma cases.
Requirements
- Valid LPN license or Medical Assistant certification with relevant clinical experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
- Ability to perform clinical skills such as taking vital signs, X-ray support, and assisting in medical or procedural settings.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification and additional certifications in emergency medicine or advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) are a plus.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients.
