Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments across various age groups, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and neonatal care.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions by developing personalized treatment plans aligned with best practices in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and specialty areas such as gastroenterology or infectious disease care.
- Administer injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and perform suturing using sterile techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of medical records, coding (ICD-10/ICD-9/CPT), and billing processes.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support patients remotely through virtual platforms.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing, sonography, spinal taps, and basic medical imaging procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists in case management for complex cases involving hospice & palliative medicine, post-acute care planning, or ICU-level interventions such as ventilator management or dialysis.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes across multiple disciplines.
- Educate patients on health coaching topics such as nutrition, medication management, family planning, or memory care strategies for dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with current state certification; experience in acute care settings preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding and CPT coding is highly desirable.
- Critical care experience from ICU or Level I/II trauma center environments is advantageous.
- Strong background in diverse clinical areas such as emergency medicine, hospital medicine, behavioral health, geriatrics, or pediatrics; experience working with special populations like assisted living residents or individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Skilled in performing procedures including venipuncture, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and airway management.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge to deliver comprehensive primary care or specialty services effectively.
- Experience administering injections and performing physical examinations across inpatient and outpatient settings; familiarity with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) use is beneficial.
