Fitness Manager, Part-Time
The Fitness Manager will oversee group fitness classes and personal training plus assist with aquatics operations for an assigned job site, providing direction, coordination, and support. The Fitness Manager will also lead/teach group fitness classes at the site (with additional compensation provided per class led).
This location is an age 55 private residential community. Experience providing services for the senior population is beneficial for this Fitness Manager role.
Schedule: Typically Tuesday-Friday mornings
Wage: $25-30 per hour

“Fitness” encompasses:
- Group Fitness Instruction
- Personal Training
- Indoor and Outdoor classes and training
- Virtual classes and training
- Regular and special programming (events, etc.)
- Deliver amazing customer service by having a hospitality-focused, customer-first mindset
- Actively assists residents in achieving their fitness goals, and provides instruction on the safe use of the fitness equipment
- Arranges class schedules and programming, ensuring all are properly posted to the URBN app
- Leads/teaches group fitness classes at the site (with additional compensation per class)
- Updates site fitness signage, class schedules, etc. using Canva
- Recruits, interviews, and hires fitness and aquatics team members
- Provides ongoing coaching and development to team members on URBN’s overall fitness policies, procedures, and expectations
- Oversees scheduling and timekeeping of team members
- Monitors team members for valid current certifications
- Recommends and/or develops systems, policies, and procedures directly related to Fitness
- Ensures fitness classes are covered and finds last minute coverage when needed
- Ensure aquatics compliance with URBN Playground and DOH policies and procedures, and client expectations Ensure aquatics PPE, chemicals, and equipment are available and properly maintained
- Develops positive rapport with client, including the following contact points:
- Emails biweekly or monthly updates on class attendance numbers
- Makes recommendations to improve attendance
- Follows up on class performance or any concerns in a timely manner
- Stays one step ahead of operations and communications, in terms of weather (moving outdoor classes to indoors), location (change in classrooms), scheduling (class not occurring on a holiday), trends (offering classes that have the best chance of participation), etc.
- Tracks class attendance: gathers numbers from instructors bi-weekly
- Reports new classes and pricing to FInancial Analyst for bookkeeping in a timely manner
- Maintains site equipment inventory and regularly inspects equipment for working condition and safety
- Minimum three years experience supervising fitness staff and programming
- Nationally accredited group exercise and personal training certification such N.A.S.M., N.S.C.A., A.C.S.M., A.C.E., etc.
- Strongly Preferred: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a health and fitness related field
- Aquatics / swimming pool operations experience
