We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to join our woodworking team. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting, assembling, and preparing wood surfaces through sanding, applying stains and finishes, and ensuring each piece meets our quality standards. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong craftsmanship, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sand wooden surfaces by hand or with power tools to prepare for staining and finishing
- Cut and assemble
- Apply wood stains, sealers, and finishes evenly and consistently
- Match stain colors and finishes to customer specifications or samples
- Inspect wood products for defects and correct them before finishing
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Handle, store, and dispose of finishing materials in accordance with safety guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in woodworking, particularly in cutting, sanding, or staining, is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Familiarity with woodworking tools and finishing products
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed
- Knowledge of safety practices in a workshop environment
Work Environment:
This position involves working in a workshop setting with exposure to dust, fumes, and wood-related materials. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
