We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive patient experience
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
- Measure and record vital signs accurately, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration
- Assist with clinical tasks such as specimen collection, medication administration, and basic wound care
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation and scheduling
- Support physicians with procedures including X-ray imaging, ICD coding, and basic anatomy or physiology assessments
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment according to infection control protocols
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and phone triage
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and post-procedure care as needed
- Assist in emergency situations utilizing Basic Life Support (BLS) skills when required
Qualifications
- Prior experience in outpatient or inpatient settings such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or clinic environments is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Experience working with EHR systems and familiarity with hospital or Level I/II trauma center procedures is advantageous
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments including urgent care or emergency medicine settings
- Previous experience in dermatology, geriatrics, medical-surgical units, PICU, or OR is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical assisting certification is preferred
