TITLE: Apex School Site Coordinator
LOCATION: Urbana High School
SUPERVISOR: Building Principal and Assistant Principal
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Principal or Assistant Principal, the Apex coordinator will supervise and administer the program at Urbana High School.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Coordinate and oversee the student application and approval process with counselors and administration
- Monitor and protect the fidelity and integrity of each program
- Coordinate with counseling staff to confirm graduate requirements are met, including documentation on student transcripts
- Foster effective home/school/community relationships
- Help students to problem solve, set goals, plan and pace their learning; this could include setting intervention conferences
- Maintain timely records of student performance
- Issue grades in the Apex Gradebook and the student information system
- Demonstrates effective web-based skills.
- Applies knowledge gained from staff development and professional education literature when working with high school students.
- Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Maintain professional relationships with students and faculty, follow the teaching profession's ethics, and promote students' welfare at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a professional educator license (PEL)
EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years experience in a public school setting at this level, except in the case of a new college graduate.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: To serve all students in this position, the ideal candidate would have a strong desire to work with bilingual and EL students.
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL: Valid Professional Educator License required
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly by Timesheet; this position will be posted every 3 years
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
