Family Support Specialist III

REPORTS TO: Family Support Specialist Mgr.

STATUS: Full-Time

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Provides lead level oversight of Family Support activities, coaches and mentor staff. This position does not include formal people-management authority (e.g., hiring, discipline, evaluations).

JOB SUMMARY:

The Family Support Specialist III provides comprehensive family support services, coordination of community resources, and promoting economic self-sufficiency among residents. This role serves as a subject matter expert and team lead , supporting quality service delivery, data integrity, and outcomes while collaborating closely with the Family Support Manager to guide strategy and continuous improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBLTIES:

• Conduct resident intake, assessments, goal setting, and ongoing case management .
• Provide individualized support, referrals, and advocacy to promote family stability and economic self-sufficiency.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all privacy and data protection requirements.
• Coach and mentor family support staff to strengthen service quality and consistency.
• Serve as a resource for complex or high-risk cases and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Analyze data and develop strategies with the Family Support Manager.
• Provid e resources and knowledge for clients to access capital, including loans for financial goals like housing and consumer products, to build credit, reduce debt, and support wealth growth through entrepreneurship.
• Hosting in-person and virtual seminars for clients seeking financial literacy management resources and capital access.
  
  
  

Supporting and promoting the development of the USI CDFI client base .

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience, Master’s preferred.
• 5 years of nonprofit or human services experience.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a car for work.
• Ability to handle privileged information confidentially.
• Strong independent and teamwork skills.
• Availability for evening/weekend events and travel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in facilitating group processes.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Data analysis for resident-driven program designs.
• Respect for confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
