Job Summary
Urban Steel Kitchen Bar is seeking a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations. This position will assist with food preparation, ingredient organization, dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, and general kitchen duties while helping the culinary team maintain efficient service and high standards of food quality and sanitation.
Responsibilities
Assist cooks and kitchen team members with daily food preparation.
Wash, cut, portion, and prepare ingredients according to instructions.
Assist with assembling and preparing menu items as needed.
Keep food preparation stations clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
Maintain clean counters, floors, sinks, and other kitchen work areas.
Store food and ingredients properly according to food-safety procedures.
Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking kitchen supplies.
Remove trash and maintain proper sanitation throughout the kitchen.
Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties.
Follow recipes, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Communicate effectively with cooks, servers, and other restaurant team members.
Support the kitchen team during busy lunch, dinner, and weekend service periods.
Qualifications
Previous kitchen, restaurant, food-service, or food-preparation experience preferred.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Strong attention to cleanliness and organization.
Ability to follow instructions and established food-preparation procedures.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties.
Ability to safely handle kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies.
Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
