What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of Emotional Wellbeing position at Urban Sprouts Child Development Center?

The Coordinator of Emotional Wellbeing fosters positive social and emotional development in young children and promotes emotional wellbeing, by providing training, coaching and mental health resources to educators and families. They collaborate with various stakeholders to create supportive and inclusive learning environments and promote the overall wellbeing and success of the adults and children in our programs.
This position will report to the Senior Director, Community of Practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Emotional Wellbeing Programing: oversees and delivers evidence-based social/emotional initiatives and interventions for children and adults
- Educator Coaching: coaches teachers, other professionals and staff on SEL strategies, best practices, and culturally responsive approaches
- Family Engagement: engages families to provide resources and support for fostering SEL at home
- Teaching/Mentoring: works directly with children in classrooms and in collaboration with their caretakers to support the development of self-regulation, identification and expression of feelings, resolution of conflicts, and other social/emotional skills
- Data Collection and Analysis: collects and analyzes data to monitor individual children’s progress, evaluate program effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement
- Crisis Intervention: involved in addressing challenging behaviors, providing additional support and resources for children and families with special rights
- Promoting a Positive School Climate: cultivates a collaborative, positive and inclusive school environment that supports the social and emotional well-being of all children, families, and staff
