Our growth is built on a simple foundation: dedication to our employees. We strive to invest in our team, ensure everyone feels valued, and provide a genuine work-life balance.

We are seeking a meticulous Quality Control Technician to join our team. In this role, you will verify that machined parts meet exact specifications and tolerances, serving as the final authority on quality before products reach our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct receiving inspections on incoming raw materials and supplies, first-piece setup checks, in-process checks, and final inspections prior to shipment.
  • Utilize manual and automated equipment—including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, scales, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)—to measure dimensions against complex blueprints and GD&T standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve defects to prevent waste and ensure no non-conforming products leave the shop.
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection and reconcile final inspection documentation for outgoing shipments.
  • Interact with source inspectors, machine operators, and team members to maintain high technical standards and clear communication.

Qualifications & Essential Skills

  • Experience: 2 years in CNC manufacturing or Quality Control roles preferred. We are willing to train the right person with the right attitude and strong mechanical aptitude!
  • Strong capability to interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with inspection tools and CMM equipment is highly desired.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, system analysis abilities, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Technical training or quality certifications are a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Active shop floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and vibration. Work environment noise levels can be loud (PPE required).
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 10 lbs. Work occasionally requires sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Why Join the Urban Team?
