FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule: 35 hours/week
FUNCTION: Oversee the Division of Family Services, and the Mobility Mentoring Program
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for overseeing the Family Services Division, under the guidance of the EVP of Programs.
- Complete and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by the Program Planning, Research and Evaluation Department.
- Assist the EVP of Programs in the hiring or Human Resources oversight of divisional staff.
- Direct up to 4 Mobility Mentors and up to 2 Mobility Mentor Navigators, EISEP Case Managers and Outreach Specialist including performance reviews and staff observations.
- Oversee the mobility mentoring and motivational interviewing carried out by staff members in the Family Services Division, including training new and current staff members.
- Work directly with clients in the Family Services Division, as required by any staffing limitations.
- Attend Urban League of Rochester functions and events.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the EVP of Programs.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a background in case management, mobility mentoring or motivational interviewing.
- Master’s degree in a relevant area (i.e., case management, counselling, human services) preferred.
- Knowledge of mobility mentoring required; knowledge of case management preferred.
- Requires 3 years of experience in client interactions or management.
- Requires 2 years of experience in managing or overseeing other staff members.
- Experience in civic engagement, financial planning preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently meet deadlines and requirements from supervisors.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the dynamics of race and class within the political economy of contemporary urban America.
- Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
