Corporate Partnerships Associate

URBAN LAND INSTITUTE
Washington, DC Other
POSTED ON 7/31/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/29/2026

The Urban Land Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. Founded in 1936, the Institute has more than 48,000 members worldwide representing the full spectrum of land use and real estate development disciplines across private enterprise and public service. ULI's mission is to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.

ABOUT THE TEAM

ULI's Corporate Partnerships program is one of the organization's most important engines. More than 70 active corporate partners, from global real estate firms to major institutional brands, contribute over $11 million in annual revenue through memberships, event sponsorships, and strategic investments. That support powers ULI's annual meetings, District Councils, research, and educational programs.

The Partnership Services team is the group these partners rely on. It manages the day-to-day relationships across the full portfolio and executes every sponsorship at ULI's flagship Spring and Fall Meetings, from deliverables and registrations through on-site activations. It is a small, close team with a high service bar, and it is growing.

THE ROLE

This is a new position, created because the program has outgrown a team of two. Reporting to the Vice President, Partnership Services, the Senior Associate becomes the go-to contact for a set of corporate partners and the operational backbone of sponsorship delivery for ULI's largest meetings.

Most of the job is service and execution done well. Partners notice when a registration is handled the same day, when a stewardship report lands on time and reads cleanly, and when the person on the other end of the email knows their account. This role is for someone who takes pride in that standard.

There is a clear growth path. You will start by learning the portfolio alongside the VP and Senior Manager, attend the Fall Meeting early in your tenure, and step into managing your own portfolio of corporate partner accounts as you build confidence, with real relationships and renewals attached to your name.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Partner Service and Account Support

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for a portfolio of corporate partners: registration requests, member roster updates, access needs, and general problem solving.
  • Deliver the white glove experience ULI's partners expect, including managing their registrations for major meetings.
  • Support partner renewals across the year, working 60 days ahead of each renewal date, and over time own renewals for your own accounts.
  • Handle ad hoc partner research and time-sensitive requests with speed and grace.

Sponsorship Execution for Major Meetings

  • Support sponsorship delivery for the Spring and Fall Meetings: tracking deliverables, invoicing sponsors, managing event registration requests, and supporting on-site activations.
  • Attend the Spring and Fall Meetings, working alongside the team on site and building relationships with partners and members face to face.

Reporting and Stewardship

  • Pull and analyze partner data from ULI's CRM with the Operations team.
  • Prepare annual engagement reports that show each partner the full value of their relationship with ULI: memberships, event participation, speaking opportunities, and more.
  • Produce post-meeting stewardship reports for sponsors, up to 50 per meeting, to a consistently high standard.

Communications

  • Own the quarterly corporate partner newsletter, from content coordination through deployment via Real Magnet.
  • Draft clear, professional partner-facing correspondence and materials.

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Work with the meetings, product council, and other ULI teams to deliver on partner expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Required

  • 2-3 years of experience in account management, partnerships, client services, sponsorship fulfillment, or nonprofit development, ideally including responsibility for your own accounts or client relationships.
  • Genuine comfort communicating with external contacts at every level, from executive assistants to CEOs and CMOs, with polish and confidence.
  • Strong Excel skills beyond the basics: you can build, manipulate, and maintain spreadsheets and work comfortably with data every day.
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization. Renewals, meeting deadlines, and partner requests overlap constantly, and this role requires knowing what matters most right now.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; you can draft professional correspondence and reports without heavy editing.
  • A collaborative, positive, no-ego approach: you work well in a small team, take feedback, and pitch in wherever needed.
  • Grace under pressure and a customer service mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred

  • Experience in an association, nonprofit, or membership organization.
  • Event or conference sponsorship experience.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Real Magnet or similar) and CRM or AMS systems (such as NetFORUM).
  • Interest in real estate, land use, and the built environment. Sector knowledge is not required; curiosity and a willingness to learn ULI are.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

In your first 90 days, you will learn how ULI and its partnerships work by sitting alongside the team, meeting the internal groups you will work with most, and experiencing a Fall Meeting up close. You will not be thrown into the fire; onboarding here is deliberate and thorough. By the end of year one, you are the trusted first call for your partners. Your accounts renew on time, your stewardship reports and newsletter are consistently strong, and the team is measurably faster because of the work you have taken on. Over time, your portfolio grows, your partner relationships deepen, and you are contributing directly to the retention and growth of one of ULI's most important revenue programs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $65,822 to $71,581. Actual compensation will be based on experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. ULI offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and life insurance; generous vacation leave; and retirement plan with employer match. Travel is not a formal requirement of this role, though attendance at ULI's Spring and Fall Meetings is expected.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) is committed to shaping the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide, and we embrace our core values of integrity, collaboration, inclusion, and excellence in service to our members.
