Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and knives
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food properly to maintain hygiene standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and specials
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely meal service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to recipe guidelines
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking skills within a restaurant or food service environment
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient handling
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
