ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Development and Communication Associate, reporting to the Development & Communications Manager, plays a pivotal role in Urban Dove's fundraising, marketing, and communication efforts. This position aims to amplify our organization's reach, engaging donors, funders, and the media. The associate will adeptly convey Urban Dove's narrative to diverse audiences, such as foundations, individual donors, and community stakeholders from within the Charter Management Office (CMO).


ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Central Office is the non-profit entity that manages the Urban Dove Charter Schools. The CMO provides a wide range of services–including back office functions, accounting, hiring, professional development, data analysis, public relations, advocacy, and more. The CMO is also responsible for providing support structures for the schools and ensuring proper replication of the model as the organization expands.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with colleagues to develop communication materials that engage all stakeholders, including funders, community groups, elected officials, alumni, colleagues and board members.
  • Assist with the collection, organization and dissemination of program and organizational data.
  • Support grant research, writing, reporting and tracking as needed.
  • Work with the Communications Manager to brainstorm and create engaging social media content that shares Urban Dove’s story for both internal and external audiences.
  • Assist with the production of all logistics planning and management for special events (soliciting auction items, creating thank you letters, helping with setup and breakdown, etc.)
  • Provide photography coverage of select in-school, after-school, and weekend events and assist in the maintenance of a photo/video archive that captures the full spectrum of Urban Dove programming on an ongoing basis.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree, plus previous experience working in a non-profit fundraising or

communications role

  • Commitment to Urban Dove’s mission
  • Availability to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with social media content creation from a school or business page standpoint
  • Advanced word-processing and desktop publishing skills (Microsoft Office, Google Docs)
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently with deadlines
  • Team player who works collaboratively
  • Personable with a high level of professionalism
  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience with photography and/or video editing a plus
  • Experience with mentorship, sports, or youth development programs helpful
  • Spanish fluency helpful

Salary : $48,000 - $58,000
