OVERVIEW
As Bar Manager at Urban Cowboy, you are in charge of every aspect of service for the bar. It’s your job to balance experience and function, finding ways to continuously improve our efficiency and grow our guest base.
Your job is to provide guided leadership; execute brand standards and guest experience; set schedules; order, monitor, and manage bar inventory; create and execute new seasonal menus including batching, prep sheets, par sheets, and recipe sheets, and training staff; and meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual expectations as set by ownership. You’ll report directly to our General Manager to ensure goals, standards, and overall vibes are met.
As an added bonus, we have a renowned hotel program that we’re so very proud of. You’ll work in tandem with our hotel staff and event coordinator to execute a seamless line between each aspect of the brand and guest experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Bar Systems
- Work with General Manager to create, execute, and maintain systems/SOP’s for all bar related functions
Bar Staff Management
- Create and manage a schedule that is conducive to employee requests and our needs as a property. (Bartenders | Barbacks | Event Staff)
- Help set and uphold standards using people management skills
- Coordinate with General Manager to hire/fire/develop all bar-related staff
Inventory Management
- Place and receive all orders for alcohol, na bev, produce, dry goods, paper goods, bar tools, etc.
- Count alcohol inventory at end of month
- Organize storage for alcohol and bar products
Events/Special Bookings
- Coordinate with Events Coordinator to execute any bar needs for buy-outs and special events
Hourly/Shift Expectations
- Regularly work 5 days per week | occasionally more based on event schedule/staffing shortages
- Admin days must be done onsite
General Hotel Duties
- On floor shifts you will be expected to uphold guest satisfaction and help with general hotel duties if necessary (assisting with hotel guest questions, passing off hotel keys, room service, etc)
REQUIREMENTS
- Appropriate social interaction skills.
- Attention to detail.
- In depth knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, modern classics. General knowledge of beer and wine.
- Ability to create systems and uphold for tracking and organization. (spreadsheets, organizational apps)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- General computer skills. (Previous POS knowledge required)
- Being able to maintain and lead a bar team in training, motivation, and constructive feedback.
- Ability to handle physical workload, including bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Cash handling skills.
SALARY HOURS EXPECTATIONS
- $60,000-70,000 DOE
- 40-50 hours weekly
- Weekday and weekend availability required
- 2 weeks paid vacation
