Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement and upselling opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandising displays to attract shoppers and highlight promotional items
- Restock shelves and ensure the sales floor is clean, safe, and inviting by stocking merchandise efficiently
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and demonstrating strong phone etiquette when assisting remotely or over the phone
- Assist with inventory management, including stock checks and participating in periodic stocktaking activities
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding new team members or managing small teams during shifts
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math ensures smooth transactions
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills are necessary to engage confidently with customers and team members
- Experience with grocery store operations or familiarity with merchandising, stocking, and product demos will be advantageous
