For over 50 years, Urban Community School (UCS) has served Cleveland's near west side children by providing an individualized, innovative, and challenging education. Rooted in the Ursuline Sisters' tradition of faith, character, and educational excellence, UCS engages our faculty, families, and community partners in the successful whole child development of students. UCS serves nearly 800 students from 6 weeks old - 8th grade using restorative practices and conscious discipline. Seventy-six percent of our families are economically disadvantaged. The growing campus in Ohio City is home to The MetroHealth System, House of Champions, Urban Squash Cleveland, USA Lacrosse, Re:Source Cleveland, and Facing History and Ourselves.

Role Overview

The Athletic Center Marketing and Sales Coordinator is responsible for generating programming in the Roundstone Athletic Center, home to The Glick Family Fieldhouse. This is a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve as a beacon of hope, health, and opportunity for our entire community. Opening in the Fall of 2025, the facility features basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts, along with 2 classrooms. The Athletic Center Marketing & Sales Coordinator is charged with ensuring we meet our goal to impact 5,000 children annually by maximizing the potential of this new facility. This team member is excited to partner with local and national organizations to bring camps, clinics, and leagues to our facility. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated ability to present and invest others in ideas, be a strong oral and written communicator, and build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to recruit and sustain partnerships with community partners, including but not limited to leagues, camps, tournaments, and other recreational programming that is revenue generating.
• Conduct facility tours and present membership options or event details.
• Participate in community outreach events to promote the athletic center.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practice

Customer Service and Relationship Building:

• Provide exceptional customer service to both current and potential partners.
• Address inquiries and concerns with care and efficiency.
• Build rapport and foster positive relationships with potential new partners and current partners.
• Follow up with new and potential partners to ensure satisfaction and retention.

Administrative Tasks:

• Manage leads and track sales activities using CRM software or other tools.
• Prepare reports on sales performance and customer data.
• Assist with marketing and promotional activities.
• Handle sales transactions, including processing payments and managing membership contracts in partnership with the Finance Team.
• Build a schedule to ensure optimal use of the facility throughout the day, evening, and weekends.
• Work with the Operations Team to ensure the Athletic Center is staffed appropriately for events.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required
• 10 years of business development/sales/marketing experience with exceptional record of results

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to walk significant distances and climb stairs throughout the day as the campus is situated on several acres with 2 buildings, ranging from single story to two stories, along with 5 campus partner facilities
• Ability to work on weekends and evenings
• FBI/BCI background check required

• Hourly rate commensurate with experience ($27-$30 per hour)

• Hours & Schedule: 20 hours per week/year-round
