Our company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Drafter with approximately one to three years of relevant building-systems design experience. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year of experience working on projects that include residential and commercial buildings, residential and commercial additions, mechanical systems and HVAC, piping systems and water systems. Candidates must have the ability to produce drawings according to the latest industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Draft detailed drawings with computer-aided design software (CAD/REVIT).
- Follow the blueprints of existing buildings and mechanical systems.
- Adjust 3-D models of existing sites, buildings, and structures for use in planning for new construction or alterations.
- Perform heating/cooling load calculation for buildings
- Preparation of mechanical plans including HVAC equipment specification and duct layout design.
- Preparation of plumbing plans including floor piping layouts and riser diagrams.
- Work directly under licensed mechanical engineers to assist with drafting and sketching.
- Provide field assistance to licensed mechanical engineers on site visits.
Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (obtained or will be obtained in near future)
- Approximately one to three years of experience preparing HVAC or Plumbing construction documents
- Efficiency in AUTOCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Good oral and written communication skills and abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
Preferred Qualification:
- Working experience with building construction or MEP firms
- Green card or U.S. citizenship
- E.I.T. Certificate
